Christmas Delivery Cut-off Dates 2026: When to Order by State
The last days to order from RUGD for delivery before Christmas 2026, by state, for standard and express shipping. Engraved orders have the same dates.
In this guide
Every year someone in the family leaves it to the last week, and every year Australia Post's Christmas cut-offs sneak up faster than anyone expects. If you're ordering from us, this page tells you exactly when to order so it lands before Christmas Day.
We pack and ship every order ourselves from our warehouse in Baringa on the Sunshine Coast, so these dates are worked out from our own processing time and Australia Post's published Christmas 2026 cut-offs, with a little buffer built in because December is December.
Quick answer: for Christmas 2026 delivery, order by Wednesday 16 December for standard shipping to NSW, ACT, Victoria and SA, Thursday 17 December within Queensland, Monday 14 December to Tasmania, Friday 11 December to WA and Tuesday 8 December to the NT. With express shipping, most capital cities have until Friday 18 December. Engraved orders have the same dates.
Christmas 2026 order-by dates by state
These are the last days to place your order with us for delivery before Christmas to metro areas. Order earlier if you're in a regional or remote area (see below).
| Delivering to | Standard shipping: order by | Express shipping: order by |
|---|---|---|
| Queensland | Thursday 17 December | Friday 18 December |
| New South Wales | Wednesday 16 December | Friday 18 December |
| ACT | Wednesday 16 December | Friday 18 December |
| Victoria | Wednesday 16 December | Friday 18 December |
| South Australia | Wednesday 16 December | Friday 18 December |
| Tasmania | Monday 14 December | Friday 18 December |
| Western Australia | Friday 11 December | Thursday 17 December |
| Northern Territory | Tuesday 8 December | Thursday 17 December |
Personalised and engraved orders have the same dates. We engrave in-house and process orders, including engraving, within 1 to 2 business days, so there's no separate, earlier deadline for a name on a cup.
Regional and remote areas
Australia Post's Christmas dates are for metro areas, and they ask everyone sending to or from regional and remote areas to allow extra time. If you're outside a capital city or a major centre, we'd suggest ordering at least three business days before the date in the table above. For remote WA, NT and far north Queensland, earlier again is safer.
How we worked these dates out
- Our processing: 1 to 2 business days from when you order to when your parcel leaves our warehouse, including engraving.
- Australia Post's cut-offs: we used the Christmas 2026 last sending dates on Australia Post's Christmas sending dates page for parcels sent from Queensland.
- A buffer: we've added at least a business day on top (a little more for Tasmania, WA and the NT), because Christmas volumes are huge and we're on the Sunshine Coast rather than in Brisbane.
If Australia Post updates its dates, we'll update this page.
Tips so it arrives on time
- Check the colour isn't on pre-order. Pre-order colours ship when new stock lands, which may be after Christmas. The product page shows it clearly.
- Double check the delivery address. A missing unit number can send a parcel the long way round.
- Ship to where they'll be. If they're heading away for Christmas, send it somewhere someone will be home or to a parcel locker.
- Get engraving details right first time. Engraved items are made to order and are final sale, so check spelling before you hit order. Our engraving ideas list helps if you're stuck on wording.
- Order sooner rather than later. The dates above are the latest safe days, not the best days. A week earlier takes the stress out of it.
Missed the cut-off?
A RUGD e-Gift Card arrives by email, so it works right up to Christmas morning. Pop it in a card with a note saying what it's for and it never feels last minute.
Gift ideas if you're still deciding
- Secret Santa gift ideas under $20, $30 and $50
- Christmas gifts for men who have everything
- End of year teacher gifts (school finishes before Christmas, so order earlier)
- Corporate Christmas gifts (branded bulk orders need weeks, not days)
Christmas delivery FAQs
What is the last day to order for Christmas delivery in 2026?
For standard shipping to metro areas, it's Wednesday 16 December for NSW, ACT, Victoria and SA, Thursday 17 December within Queensland, Monday 14 December for Tasmania, Friday 11 December for WA and Tuesday 8 December for the NT. With express, most capital cities have until Friday 18 December.
Do engraved orders take longer?
No. We engrave in-house and process all orders, engraved or not, within 1 to 2 business days, so the order-by dates are the same.
What are Australia Post's Christmas cut-off dates from Queensland?
Australia Post's 2026 Parcel Post last sending dates from Queensland metro areas are Monday 21 December to NSW, ACT, Victoria and SA, Tuesday 22 December within Queensland, Friday 18 December to Tasmania, Thursday 17 December to WA and Monday 14 December to the NT. Express Post to most metro areas is Wednesday 23 December. Our order-by dates sit a few days earlier to allow for packing and a buffer.
Do you pack and dispatch on weekends?
No, we pack and dispatch on business days, so weekends and public holidays don't count towards our 1 to 2 business day processing time. Australia Post doesn't deliver on public holidays either, so allow for those too. Orders placed after the cut-off are still sent, they just won't arrive before Christmas.
Are you open between Christmas and New Year?
We close from Thursday 24 December and we're back on Monday 4 January 2027. You can still order anytime over the break, and anything placed while we're closed is packed and sent from 4 January.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping is free on Australian orders over $90.
From both of us and the team in Baringa, thanks for choosing to give something that gets used. Merry Christmas. Malin and Andre
